Greensboro-Randolph Megasite launches new website

09/24/15

With more than 1,400 acres under control and utility planning under way, the Greensboro-Randolph Megasite has launched a new web presence.

The new website, at www.greensboro-randolphmegasite.com, was designed to convey visual and detailed information about the assets and competitive advantages of this site for an advanced manufacturing employer and to connect interested parties with economic development agencies for further information.

“Through a unique regional partnership, we have created a highly competitive industrial site and we are now ready to market this megasite,” said Bonnie Renfro, president of the Randolph County Economic Development Corp. (EDC). “We designed this website to show off the many physical advantages of the land, including access to transportation networks and location in the heart of North Carolina.”

Interactive map layers show the highway network, rail lines, seaports and airports serving the megasite as well as detailed renderings of how more than 6 million square feet of manufacturing facilities can be accommodated. Details on logistics, workforce and training, and the supply chain are also included.

“It is exciting to begin sharing the competitive advantages of this megasite with the world,” said Jim Melvin, president of the Joseph Bryan Foundation and chair of the Greensboro-Randolph Megasite Foundation Board. “We have been working to assemble this land, and to make sure that the utilities and support are in place to attract an employer that can bring thousands of jobs to central North Carolina. Launching this website is the next step to make that happen.“

The website was developed in a collaborative process led by Marketing Alliance, Inc., an economic development marketing firm. Collaborators included representatives from the EDC, Randolph County, the City of Greensboro, the Greensboro Partnership, Guilford County, the Piedmont Triad Partnership and the megasite foundation.
